Referral and Admissions Procedures

Women wanting to come to Phoebe House are expected to make phone contact with the staff, even if a prior referral has been made by a worker from another service.

Information about the service is then mailed / faxed to the woman for her to consider.

An appointment is then arranged for an assessment interview.

The interview allows for both the staff and the woman to decide if Phoebe House is the best option at this time.

If Phoebe House is a suitable place, then a woman will be placed on the waiting list until there is a vacancy.

Each woman on the list is expected to phone at least once every week to show interest and to keep staff up to date with what is happening in their lives, and with their drug use to assess whether they need to detox before coming in.
