Phoebe House has a very comprehensive list of "Guidelines", and some basic Rules.
Not keeping the Rules may be grounds to be asked to leave Phoebe House immediately, even if women have children in their care.
The Rules refer to necessary safety for all women and children in the program and cover such things as not being violent or threatening, not bringing alcohol or other drugs onto the premises or giving them to another resident, not leaving the premises at night or allowing anyone onto the premises without staff knowledge, and not stealing.
We expect women to make an effort not to use any alcohol or other drugs whilst in the program.
This is to allow for an experience of becoming more in control of drug use and to allow all women in the program to feel safe and to make use of this learning opportunity.
We understand that relapse has a part to play in a person's coming to terms with drug use issues, however, we expect women to be making efforts towards change, and if drug use continues then a woman will be asked to leave the Phoebe House program.
